It has been 10 years since the tragedy of 9/11 which had a great impact in our lives at home and abroad.

Ramadan "Iftar" Dinners
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID), the Intercultural and Interfaith Dialog Student Association (IIDSA) organized a series of "Iftar" dinners in the Holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month when Muslims fast; refraining from drinking and eating from the dawn until the sunset. It is also a tradition in this month to break the fast together with family, neighbors, and friends. Ramadan brings people and their hearts together by sharing the food at dinners. Fasting is a training for self control. Also, by experiencing hunger, people learn sincere thankfulness and appreciation for all of God's bounties, and understand the poor and needy, and are more willing to do charity in this month.

Fasting in Abrahamic Traditions
The Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID), and the Intercultural and Interfaith Dialog Student Association (IIDSA) organized a dinner of Abrahamic traditions with the topic of "Fasting in Abrahamic traditions". The speeches were followed by "Iftar" dinner prepared by IIDSA volunteers. Our speakers explained fasting in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
