Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions

   Institute of Interfaith Dialog Austin chapter organized an interreligious panel for representatives of the Abrahamic traditions about ”Youth on Violence and Faith" on May 9, 2013. More than 80 guests attended the event and enjoyed the meal prepared by volunteer families. The theme was presented by the two Abrahamic faiths: Christianity and Islam representatives in the panel.

Jesus in the Qur'an

The Austin Branch of IID has hosted a seminar entitled "Jesus in the Qur'an"  on Apr. 9 in ECJ Hall on the campus of University of Texas at Austin.  Okan Dogan who is graduate student in Religious Studies at University of Texas and has talked about Qur'anic narration on Jesus' birth, prophethood, and miracles as well as status of Jesus in Islamic tradition. Besides, he has mentioned essential interpretations of various verses on Jesus' death and ascension to God.

Book Signing By Dr. Martha Ann Kirk

The Institute of Interfaith Dialog organized a book signing event with Dr. Martha Ann Kirk, professor in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the University  of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. After Kirk gave an overview of her book "Growing Seeds of Peace", the attendees had a chance to have their books signed.
