Dinner of Abrahamic Traditions at El Paso Chapter

_DSC0444Institute of Interfaith Dialog El Paso chapter organized an interreligious panel for representatives of the Abrahamic traditions about ”Death and Afterlife" on April 30, 2013. More than 150 guests attended the event and enjoyed the meal prepared by volunteer families. The theme was presented by the three Abrahamic faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam representatives in the panel.

Luncheon Forum with Congressman Silvestre Reyes

DSC_0633a The Institute of Interfaith Dialog El Paso branch hosted U.S. Congressman Silvestre Reyes for Luncheon Forum. Congressman Reyes delivered a speach about "Border Security Issues". He mentioned his presence in Turkey several times and how he liked spending time in Turkey. More than 50 people attended the lucheon. Congessman highlighted the importance of interfaith and intercultural understanding with each other.

Dr.Joe Heyman, UTEP Anthropology/Sociology chairman,  Les Lieberman, Jewish Community  Leader, and Sr.Elizabeth Swartz, Superintendent of Catholic schools of El Paso talked about  the importance of dialog for  todays globalized world.

Friday Socials: Commemoration Ceremony for Jim Kelly's son at IID El Paso

Institute of Interfaith Dialog (IID) El Paso chapter arranged a commemoration ceremony at " Friday Socials" for Jim Kelly's son, Garrett Kelly who passed away last month in an early age of 28. Jim Kelly is a member of IID Alumni Turkey Trips who has gone to Turkey in 2009.
