Rolex Deepsea is a celebrity favorite
Rolex launched the Deepsea collection in 2008 as an extreme iteration of the already impressive Sea-Dweller saturation dive watch. Since then, the Deepsea Sea-Dweller has not only remained in the Rolex catalog, but the company has released three generations of models to date, with the latest one set to join in 2022.
The standard copy Rolex Deepsea Diver has a classic black dial. The 116660 features a classic black color and the characteristic combination of luminous round, stick, and triangular markers with Mercedes-style hands. There is also a date window at 3 o’clock. Rolex fans will notice the absence of the ubiquitous Cyclops magnifying glass above the date window. The Deepsea ref. 116660 is made of Cerachrom ceramic and, unlike the Submariner, is surrounded by a full 60 scale.
The Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea ref. 116660 D-Blue dial was launched in 2014 to commemorate James Cameron’s historical dive into the deepest parts of the Earth two years earlier. It marks the first and only time Rolex has dedicated a model to one man – arguably the only actual celebrity Rolex replica watch.
The dial itself is functionally identical to the standard Deepsea watch. The only difference between the D-Blue version and the standard black Deepsea watch is. The D-Blue dial features a color gradient that changes from bright blue to deep black, symbolizing that the deeper you go into the ocean, the darker the waters become.
The Sea-Dweller Deepsea is not only Rolex’s most oversized watch at 44 mm in diameter and 17.70 mm thick, but it is also one of the brand’s most technically impressive watches, boasting a depth rating of 12,800 feet (3,900 meters) of water resistance. It is, therefore, easy to understand why successful people who have achieved celebrity status in their respective fields are attracted to Rolex’s exceptional diving watches.
Many ask why fake Rolex bothered to make a watch that can dive 100 times deeper than anyone can survive. The answer is simple, Rolex can. Every once in a while, the Swiss watchmaking giant likes to remind us that in addition to consistently producing the most popular luxury watches on the market, the brand can flex its enormous technological muscles when it wants to. And we’re glad the company does because the Rolex Deepsea Diver is a famous watch for its striking looks and incredible innovation.
